Jeff Currier's Artwork

At the Denver Sportsmen’s show several years ago I ran into my good friend Jeff Currier. He was working on a watercolor. I knew Jeff was talented; however I did not know that he was a gifted artist. He was applying the final spots on a Snake River Cutthroat that was the best trout painting I had ever seen. I begged him to sell it to me, and he did but with a look on his face like, “I can actually sell my paintings?” Since that day I have commissioned Jeff to paint at least 15 more fish. The paintings are as good as it gets. I could not be more pleased, and they make my fishing room a real work of art.

Jeff Currier's Fly Fishing Adventures

Jeff Currier has been traveling and fly fishing the world for a lifetime. His passion for travel began as a child while exploring North America with his parents. When it was time to hit the world on his own, he left his family and homeland of New England for the Midwest where he studied at Northland College in Ashland, Wisconsin. After graduating from college he moved to Jackson, Wyoming where he began his career in the fly fishing business at the Jack Dennis Fly Shop.

Jeff’s need for year round fly fishing led him south of Jackson Hole during the winter. In the late 80’s he found himself stalking the flats of Belize with his summer clients more than two months each winter. When he wrapped up his assignments in Belize, he ventured further south through Central and South America. His addiction to travel grew so immense that he began the routine of wandering some distant fly fishing destination every time he saved enough money. By age thirty, Jeff had fished most of the worlds fly fishing hot spots.

Jeff has spent the last decade fly fishing the most remote corners of the globe in search of the most difficult and rare game fish of the world. Some of his recent travels have been to Venezuela for payara, India for mahseer, Zambia for tigerfish and Egypt for Nile perch. He has presently landed over 250 kinds of fish on the fly in over 40 countries!

Jeff’s Fly Fishing Adventures page provides reports and photos from his many exploits. This is a piece if his web site that is in developmental stages. Although only a few reports presently appear, keep checking. His past adventures will soon be uploaded, that is if Jeff stays home long enough!

In this section you can read about Jeff's November 2009 trip to Baja California, Fly Fishing in Brazil in January 2009, a winter fly fishing expedition in the winter of 2009, October 2008 fishing adventure in Mongolia, a May 2008 excursion for Mahseer in India, fly fishing for sharks in November 2007, a second flyfishing journey to Egypt in May 2007, the 2006 World Fly Fishing Championships , his first trip to Egypt for Nile Perch in May 2006, an extraordinary fishing trip to Africa in the fall of 2005 and finally, his first visit to Nepal and India in 2002.

Now you can travel the world with Jeff Currier and Yellow Dog Flyfishing Adventures. Jeff can officially help you chose and book the international fishing destination of your dreams! It only makes sense; Jeff has been globe-trotting for over 25 years. He has presently fished in over 40 countries on six continents and caught more than 275 different kinds of fish with the fly from both fresh and saltwater. It was time. Jeff is eminently qualified to help other anglers get the best out of their own precious fishing time.
