Jeff Currier's Fly Fishing Adventures
Jeff
Currier has been traveling and fly fishing the world for a lifetime. His
passion for travel began as a child while exploring North America with
his parents. When it was time to hit the world on his own, he left his
family and homeland of New England for the Midwest where he studied at
Northland College in Ashland, Wisconsin. After graduating from college
he moved to Jackson, Wyoming where he began his career in the fly fishing
business at the Jack Dennis Fly Shop.
Jeff’s need for year round fly fishing led him south of Jackson Hole
during the winter. In the late 80’s he found himself stalking the flats
of Belize with his summer clients more than two months each winter. When
he wrapped up his assignments in Belize, he ventured further south
through Central and South America. His addiction to travel grew so
immense that he began the routine of wandering some distant fly fishing
destination every time he saved enough money. By age thirty, Jeff had
fished most of the worlds fly fishing hot spots.
Jeff has spent the last decade fly fishing the most remote corners of
the globe in search of the most difficult and rare game fish of the
world. Some of his recent travels have been to Venezuela for payara,
India for mahseer, Zambia for tigerfish and Egypt for Nile perch. He has
presently landed over 180 kinds of fish on the fly in over 40 countries!
Jeff’s Fly Fishing Adventures page provides reports and photos from his
many exploits. This is a piece if his web site that is in developmental
stages. Although only a few reports presently appear, keep checking. His
past adventures will soon be uploaded, that is if Jeff stays home long
enough! |
