Jeff could ride his bike to the ocean growing up as a kid in Massachusetts. The problem however was Jeff’s only fly rod was a telescoping 5-weight that had about as much backbone as today’s 2-weights. Saltwater fly fishing was not an option. Luckily he had plenty of freshwater fishing all around him.
It wasn’t until he moved to Wyoming and worked in a prominent fly shop in 1987 that he discovered saltwater fly fishing. After charging not one, but two trips to Belize on his fly shop account he never looked back. Jeff went on to host groups to Belize twice a year and soon traded his winters of ice fishing and skiing for the tropical salt waters of the world.
Jeff has fished the Atlantic Ocean from Ungava Bay Nunavik in Northern Canada to Cape Cod to the Florida Keys, Bahamas, Belize, Cayman Islands, Costa Rica, Honduras, Iceland, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Venezuela and the Gulf of Mexico and parts of the Mediterranean. Jeff has also fished the Atlantic Ocean from the West African country of Gabon.
