jeff-currier-fly-fishing Being home for ten full days in a row now has been like being on vacation. Vacation at home! Its so nice to wake up and drink a cup of coffee from my chair and just enjoy the birds on the feeders. Its been great to catch up on emails, get my workout routines back in order and simply head out to the local tavern for a few beers with friends. Home sweet home is a wonderful place when you travel nine months of the year.

Jim-Klug The one thing I haven’t done is fish. This will change soon because on March 21 I’ll head to the Cook Islands with Granny and I suspect we’ll get into some cool fish. For now, here’s a podcast I did with my friend Jim Klug, founder of Yellow Dog Fly Fishing Adventures. Jim’s new podcast station is called Waypoints with Jim Klug – The Podcast of Adventure Angling. Great podcast and thanks for sharing your knowledge & experiences all these years.. seriously much appreciated my friend. Looking forward to the Cook Islands blogs and I know you & Granny will enjoy some much needed time away. Might want to keep Granny away from the GT’s on the new shoulder. I’ve been talking with Simon to add the Cooks to a Australia trip this year but it doesn’t look like the timing is going to work out… got to take the good with the bad. But man…it looks like a beautiful place & great fishing. Safe travels

I started fly fishing at age 7 in the lakes and ponds of New England cutting my teeth on various sunfish, bass, crappie and stocked trout. I went to Northland College in Ashland, Wisconsin, where I graduated with a Naturalist Degree while I discovered new fishing opportunities for pike, muskellunge, walleyes and various salmonids found in Lake Superior and its tributaries.

From there I headed west to work a few years in the Yellowstone region to simply work as much as most people fish and fish as much as most people work. I did just that, only it lasted over 20 years working at the Jack Dennis Fly Shop in Jackson, WY where I departed in 2009. Now it’s time to work for "The Man", working for myself that is.

I pursue my love to paint fish, lecture on every aspect of fly fishing you can imagine and host a few trips to some of the most exotic places you can think of. My ultimate goal is to catch as many species of fish on fly possible from freshwater to saltwater, throughout the world. I presently have taken over 440 species from over 60 countries!
