Deeply Discounted Week on the Marie River

peacock-bassIf you’ve been reading this blog for a while you should remember my spectacular trip to the Rio Marié in September of 2019.  Perhaps the finest peacock bass river of all the Amazon basin.  The place where the largest peacock bass swim.

Untamed-AnglingIf you never saw my reports from this trip its time to check them out.  I’ve fished many of the rivers in the Amazon but never was I so impressed as with the Marié.  It was one of the most beautiful live aboard ships I’ve ever been on and I caught several peacocks over 20lbs and my largest was only a hair under 25lbs!

Currier-peacock-bassThe reason I’m bringing this up today is that my friend Rodrigo Salles, one of the founders of Untamed Angling, has informed me they had cancellations during prime time for the week of October 10-17.  Rodrigo is now offering these limited spaces at a discounted rate of $5000 each.  Normally this trip runs $7325!

If you are interested in doing this incredible trip contact my friends at Yellow Dog Flyfishing before this deal of the century is gone!

Anyone reading Jeff’s blog, I can double down on how great the Rio Marie fishing is and the accommodations on the boat are fabulous! If I wasn’t committed to another trip that week…..there would be one less spot available!! Great opportunity to fish here at a discount that doesn’t happen very often. I still need to break into the 20lb club so will be back!! Thanks for passing info Jeff!

I started fly fishing at age 7 in the lakes and ponds of New England cutting my teeth on various sunfish, bass, crappie and stocked trout. I went to Northland College in Ashland, Wisconsin, where I graduated with a Naturalist Degree while I discovered new fishing opportunities for pike, muskellunge, walleyes and various salmonids found in Lake Superior and its tributaries.

From there I headed west to work a few years in the Yellowstone region to simply work as much as most people fish and fish as much as most people work. I did just that, only it lasted over 20 years working at the Jack Dennis Fly Shop in Jackson, WY where I departed in 2009. Now it’s time to work for "The Man", working for myself that is.

I pursue my love to paint fish, lecture on every aspect of fly fishing you can imagine and host a few trips to some of the most exotic places you can think of. My ultimate goal is to catch as many species of fish on fly possible from freshwater to saltwater, throughout the world. I presently have taken over 440 species from over 60 countries!
