Cliff Box Art and Yard Sale Keep Me Home

by | Apr 18, 2021 | fly fishing gear

Cascade-MountainsI’ve been home a few days from Oregon and Washington.  It was a fantastic trip and super fun to get back fishing with my longtime pal Mike LaSota.  It’s been great to travel at least a little bit this year so far and my flight home from Portland was no less than incredible.  If you’ve never flown through Portland, Oregon – all I can say is that if you do, be sure to grab a window seat!

Currier-fish-artIt took a few days to sum things up because I was completely buried with work when I got home.  I had three Cliff Box orders to complete for regular customers.  On top of that, WorldCast Anglers ordered a dozen boxes to sell in their shop.  The weather was horrible here in Victor Wednesday through Friday so I grinded these out and enjoyed listening to numerous baseball games on my radio.  It was wonderful.

tackle-yard-saleLast year Granny and I planned a yard sale.  Due to Covid we canceled.  It’s now back on the schedule for Saturday May 15th 7 AM to 3 PM.  We have all kinds of stuff and yes, I’ll have a large supply of fishing gear.  I never sell equipment from the companies I represent so don’t expect Winston’s, Simms waders or Bauer Reels, but I have other great rods, reels and deals.  If you want to see my rods or reels list, Contact Me.  If you live near enough to come by, just reach out and I’ll make the time for you to get stuff sooner.  Don’t procrastinate because the goods are priced to sell!

I started fly fishing at age 7 in the lakes and ponds of New England cutting my teeth on various sunfish, bass, crappie and stocked trout. I went to Northland College in Ashland, Wisconsin, where I graduated with a Naturalist Degree while I discovered new fishing opportunities for pike, muskellunge, walleyes and various salmonids found in Lake Superior and its tributaries.

From there I headed west to work a few years in the Yellowstone region to simply work as much as most people fish and fish as much as most people work. I did just that, only it lasted over 20 years working at the Jack Dennis Fly Shop in Jackson, WY where I departed in 2009. Now it’s time to work for "The Man", working for myself that is.

I pursue my love to paint fish, lecture on every aspect of fly fishing you can imagine and host a few trips to some of the most exotic places you can think of. My ultimate goal is to catch as many species of fish on fly possible from freshwater to saltwater, throughout the world. I presently have taken over 440 species from over 60 countries!
