The first thing this morning was me and the rest of the USA Masters Fly Fishing Team made our move from the Airbnb where we practiced all last week into the World Championship host hotel, Coast Hotels in downtown Kamloops, British Columbia. One thing for sure, we have a ton of stuff. While Loren, Mike, Jerry and I flew and each have two bags, Bret and Pete drove from Boise. These guys have backups of everything!
It was the usual day of opening ceremonies. In the morning it looks like its going to be a long day with tons of waiting around. But the truth is, the day flies by. By the time you move in your room its time to get dressed for the parade. Then you’re on a bus to start the parade. There’s the parade itself. And before you know it you’re eating dinner late at night listening to speeches to kick off the affair.
All the events are fun but most important from all of today is that we were all assigned our competitive fishing schedule. Tomorrow Pete heads for Corbett Lake, Mike heads for the Clearwater River, Loren goes to the Similkameen River, Brett to Sullivan Lake and I’ll get Tunkwa out of the way right off the bat. Time to get prepared and then a good night’s sleep. It’s go time!
Good luck!
Thanks Dan!
Best of luck Jeff and the whole team
Thank you Rich. We are ready to give it our all!
