A New Look to My Fish Decals!

jeff-currier-bluefin-trevallyWhile Granny recovers from her shoulder surgery there won’t be much fishing.  Instead I’m getting caught up on my work.  For me this means updating and building new PowerPoint presentations to deliver during this winter’s speaking tour.  I’m writing a feature article for Current Magazine about my recent Amazon trip.  And I’m hoping to do some art.  I have my mind set on painting up this bluefin trevally I caught last year so I can offer it on my coffee mugs, beer steins and shirts.

fish-decalsSpeaking of my products, my friend Jeff Ditsworth who has been making my fish decals has improved their quality yet again.  He’s offering three sizes now.  There’s a 5”, 10” and super huge and beautiful 12” that looks fantastic on your vehicle.  As of now we only have a few fish to choose from but over the next few weeks we’ll be adding more trout along with a few saltwater fish.

Although I’m not fishing much now I will be on the Henry’s Fork on Wednesday.  I’m teaching one day for the School of Trout’s beginner fly fishing class.  My mom is here to help take care of Granny so I can sneak away Wednesday and perhaps I’ll try to fish with some college pals on Kubswin Lake on Friday.

I started fly fishing at age 7 in the lakes and ponds of New England cutting my teeth on various sunfish, bass, crappie and stocked trout. I went to Northland College in Ashland, Wisconsin, where I graduated with a Naturalist Degree while I discovered new fishing opportunities for pike, muskellunge, walleyes and various salmonids found in Lake Superior and its tributaries.

From there I headed west to work a few years in the Yellowstone region to simply work as much as most people fish and fish as much as most people work. I did just that, only it lasted over 20 years working at the Jack Dennis Fly Shop in Jackson, WY where I departed in 2009. Now it’s time to work for "The Man", working for myself that is.

I pursue my love to paint fish, lecture on every aspect of fly fishing you can imagine and host a few trips to some of the most exotic places you can think of. My ultimate goal is to catch as many species of fish on fly possible from freshwater to saltwater, throughout the world. I presently have taken over 440 species from over 60 countries!
