I’m home sweet home but not without the Amazon’s Marié River, Land of the Giants, on my mind. This was an amazing trip and a special thanks goes out to my friend Rodrigo Salles of Untamed Angling for inviting me down for some of my best fishing of 2019. And that’s saying a lot!
Keep in mind that if this is a trip you want to do you can Contact me. This is a trip we organize through Yellow Dog Flyfishing Adventures along with several other spectacular Untamed Angling destinations.
While the trip has been over for several days I thought I’d share a few more photos from the adventure. Enjoy!
The luxurious Untamed Amazon was our comfortable home deep in the Amazon.
Fly fishing in the Brazilian Amazon is something all fly fishers need to experience.
Rodrigo with one of many huge peacocks we caught this week.
Other cool fish species to catch – bicuda.
The fierce fly stealing Amazon dogfish.
Another jacunda.
One of my favorite peacocks of the week was this 6lb paca.
I finished my sharpie art on the back of the Untamed Amazon.
The Marié produced some of the biggest butterfly peacocks I’ve ever seen.
Fabrizio – the best chef in the Amazon!
This 24.5lb peacock on the last day will likely be the biggest of my life. . . . But you never know. I plan to come back here someday!
After the long trip home. Next in line isn’t fun. Granny has her shoulder surgery on Tuesday. Time for me to take charge of helping my girl get back on the water. I’ll have a full report towards the end of the week.
Be sure to visit my Instagram page and Facebook for more photos from this adventure and others!
Sounds fantastic if only I was younger I’d be there in a flash Love to dear Grannie and good luck with her shoulder operation
Thanks Janet. Wish you were here too.
