blog_august_3_2010_1[1] Two weeks ago it appeared this summer was going to be a slow one for art sales. Boy did that change. In the last two weeks, both galleries that sell my work have sold my paintings and there have been several orders through my website. It’s very good news.

Although I’ll still be fishing frequently, much of my time will be dedicated to painting. Keep an eye here as I post some of my most recent works such as the saltwater flats “Grand Slam” I completed today. Be sure and contact me when you’re ready to have your special catch painted. You can reach me via the contact button on the right hand side of this page.

blog_august_3_2010_2[1] Some of my artwork appears at South Fork Outfitters inside the fly shop, right above the beer cooler!

South Fork Outfitters is one of Idaho’s authentic full-service, specialty fly shop and guide service. They are located on the bank of the South Fork of the Snake River in Southeast Idaho. They offer their lodging guests and anglers full and half day fishing trips, exclusive overnight riverside camping, scenic float trips, and package guiding for the South Fork Lodge, located at rivers edge in Swan Valley, Idaho.

More of my original artwork is at the Jack Dennis Art Gallery in downtown Jackson Hole Wyoming. Located on the Town Square in the heart of Jackson Hole, upstairs in Jack blog_august_3_2010_3[1] Dennis Sports, Wyoming Gallery is a long- established Jackson favorite specializing in landscape, wildlife, and sporting art.

I started fly fishing at age 7 in the lakes and ponds of New England cutting my teeth on various sunfish, bass, crappie and stocked trout. I went to Northland College in Ashland, Wisconsin, where I graduated with a Naturalist Degree while I discovered new fishing opportunities for pike, muskellunge, walleyes and various salmonids found in Lake Superior and its tributaries.

From there I headed west to work a few years in the Yellowstone region to simply work as much as most people fish and fish as much as most people work. I did just that, only it lasted over 20 years working at the Jack Dennis Fly Shop in Jackson, WY where I departed in 2009. Now it’s time to work for "The Man", working for myself that is.

I pursue my love to paint fish, lecture on every aspect of fly fishing you can imagine and host a few trips to some of the most exotic places you can think of. My ultimate goal is to catch as many species of fish on fly possible from freshwater to saltwater, throughout the world. I presently have taken over 440 species from over 60 countries!
