It was smooth flying from Paris to Mauritius arriving to this southern Indian Ocean country on April 5th. All my Yellow Dog friends arrived at varying times over the 5th and 6th. This includes, Michael Lodge, Jeff Smith, David Moeller, Mike Brennan, Bob Ylagan, Heath Marston and Morgan O’Brien. Last night we celebrated the fact that we’re all here and that today we start the long 30 hour boat ride for St. Brandon’s Atoll. Ok, maybe we didn’t celebrate the boat ride because it has an extended history for being miserable, but we did party over the fact that once the boat ride is over, we have 14 days of fly fishing one of the most pristine saltwater flats destinations in the world. Fourteen Days!
That’s it for now. It is likely that posts will slow and perhaps go completely dark for a couple weeks. This depends on internet access. No matter what, I’ll be taking lots of photos and keeping good notes about each day and eventually I’ll post my day by day accounts.
Remember, if this is a trip that you have been dreaming about, feel free to contact me and Yellow Dog and we’ll help you make it happen!
