10,000 Miles from Victor, Idaho

While most despise the long flight I have a routine where they’re kind of fun.  I rarely read or watch movies when I’m home.  And I never do a crossword puzzle.  But on long flights I enjoy all.  Toss in a couple glasses of red and an Ambien and long flights are fun....

The Annual Guide Get Together

Twenty years ago I started a tradition while running the Jack Dennis Fly Shop.  The annual event was an end of the season bash with my shop and guide staff.  We put at least six boats on the South Fork and fished to Heise Hot Springs.  There we had a huge celebratory...

A Few Casts in Corona Del Mar

I’m getting more time on the water on this speaking tour than I expected.  I wandered down to the jetty in Corona Del Mar this morning in hopes to catch something – instead it’s the first skunk of the week.  It was still nice to get a few casts in. Jeff Currier Global...

Who Needs a Rod?

If I become any more forgetful with age I’m in big trouble.  Friends Tim Brune and Josh Gallivan and I decided to fish four miles from the house.  Just incase anyone needed to bail early we each took our own cars.  When we got there I realized I forgot my rod.  ...

Locked out of Flat Creek – You’re Kidding?

I had errands to do in Jackson today so I figured to throw in a few hours of photography on Flat Creek on the National Elk Refuge.  I badly need some rising fish photos and thought I’d creep through the tall grass and get a few shots from close range.  I invited a...

Welcome to the Blog of Jeff Currier!

Contact Jeff

I started fly fishing at age 7 in the lakes and ponds of New England cutting my teeth on various sunfish, bass, crappie and stocked trout. I went to Northland College in Ashland, Wisconsin, where I graduated with a Naturalist Degree while I discovered new fishing opportunities for pike, muskellunge, walleyes and various salmonids found in Lake Superior and its tributaries.

From there I headed west to work a few years in the Yellowstone region to simply work as much as most people fish and fish as much as most people work. I did just that, only it lasted over 20 years working at the Jack Dennis Fly Shop in Jackson, WY where I departed in 2009. Now it’s time to work for "The Man", working for myself that is.

I pursue my love to paint fish, lecture on every aspect of fly fishing you can imagine and host a few trips to some of the most exotic places you can think of. My ultimate goal is to catch as many species of fish on fly possible from freshwater to saltwater, throughout the world. I presently have taken over 440 species from over 60 countries!
