Carpless in Atlanta

I’m in flight now headed back home from my quick jaunt down to Atlanta to speak to the fly fishing club.  It was a great trip.  My show went awesome and I got to catch shoal bass yesterday and chase carp this morning.  Friend and this week’s host, Austin Kane, got us...

Privileged to Fish a Sneaky Georgia Haunt

I had a fantastic time fishing here in Georgia today.  However, I was asked not to divulge any info or show much scenery by well-known Georgia angler, Fletcher Sams.  Fletcher treated Austin Kane and I to the awesome experience.  It’s a privilege when taken to cool...

Snapperless at Snapper Rocks

We planned an early start for our drive north this morning from Magdalena Bay but unfortunately Sammy caught the crud.  Sam and I were kind of expecting it because Grant was hurting when we got here.  Hopefully I’m not next.   Luckily we only had a couple hours...

Maybe Next Time for Mr. Wahoo

It was another early one out of Magdalena Bay in Baja on our quest for wahoo on the fly.  It was cooler and fog rose from the estuary.  Like yesterday I was with friends Sammy Vigneri and Grant Hartman and local fishing guide Roddy.   Other than the fog the day...

Its Never the Last Cast

60°s and Cloudy Brings Me Out One Last Time

Fall keeps delivering decent temperatures for fishing.  Although a cloudy one, today touched 60° and I hit the water with Bob and his son Gibb.  We saw a few muskies but none would eat.   The pike on the other hand, they always save the day and this afternoon was...

Welcome to the Blog of Jeff Currier!

Contact Jeff

I started fly fishing at age 7 in the lakes and ponds of New England cutting my teeth on various sunfish, bass, crappie and stocked trout. I went to Northland College in Ashland, Wisconsin, where I graduated with a Naturalist Degree while I discovered new fishing opportunities for pike, muskellunge, walleyes and various salmonids found in Lake Superior and its tributaries.

From there I headed west to work a few years in the Yellowstone region to simply work as much as most people fish and fish as much as most people work. I did just that, only it lasted over 20 years working at the Jack Dennis Fly Shop in Jackson, WY where I departed in 2009. Now it’s time to work for "The Man", working for myself that is.

I pursue my love to paint fish, lecture on every aspect of fly fishing you can imagine and host a few trips to some of the most exotic places you can think of. My ultimate goal is to catch as many species of fish on fly possible from freshwater to saltwater, throughout the world. I presently have taken over 440 species from over 60 countries!
